Piano Tuning is the simplest, most essential and least expensive maintenance requirement of your piano. It keeps the string tension balanced across the soundboard. Besides keeping your piano in tune, it helps preserve your piano's value. It will cost you thousands of dollars to replace your piano. It will cost you thousands of dollars to rebuild it. It will only cost you hundreds of dollars to maintain its musical and economic value.
Every piano should be tuned at least 2 times each year. To put things in perspective, a concert piano is tuned before each performance. A recording studio piano is tuned several times every week! All pianos require tuning on a regular basis.
During tuning your tuner/technician will advise you of any adjustments that may be needed to achieve the most efficient repetition of the keys or to avoid any uneven wear to the action parts.
We also have maintenance plans available for heavily/excessively played pianos. This would involve more frequent tunings, voicing and regular adjustments of the pedals, and action regulating. We price these plans for the specific needs of your piano. Each plan will vary. Our maintenance plans are designed to give you optimal service and save you money, like a 'volume discount.'
For pianos subject to extreme climate conditions we recommend installing a climate control system. Most major manufacturers recommend installing climate control systems in their pianos. They are time tested to keep your piano in tune longer and preserve your investment from the disastrous effects of too much dryness and too much humidity.
